Review of Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

You’ve probably seen these Neutrogena light therapy masks on social media and elsewhere. What you might be unaware of is what exactly they treat and whether they actually work. For the past month I’ve been using the Neutrogena light therapy acne mask to treat my skin. I wasn’t sure what to expect initially but here are my thoughts on the product.

Review of Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask

The Neutrogena visibly clear light therapy acne mask has been clinically proven to treat acne from the source. Studies show that users have noticed visible results within just one week after using the product. It’s advised in the instructions that you use the mask for one 10-minute session everyday for 30 days for best results.
Until I’d read the instructions and understood the concept of the red and blue light therapy, I was concerned about the potential damage it could cause. It is worth noting that this form of light therapy isn’t the same as UV lights, despite them both being blue. UV can cause skin damage, whereas this mask’s red and blue light therapy is safe for the skin and eyes. With the built-in protective glasses, you can’t keep your eyes open while using the mask. So you can sit and chill with a book or in front of the TV at the same time.

Light Therapy Explained

The light therapy treatment is the same as specialist skin and acne treatments performed in clinics. The dual-coloured light therapy helps to combat two of the main issues that cause acne: inflammation and bacteria.
The inside of the mask is scattered with small, subtle lights. The blue lights target the acme-causing bacteria. The red lights reduce acne inflammation. Together they work together to cause a pink light effect which acts as an effective dual treatment.

98% of users reported of fewer breakouts

94% had smoother skin after continued use

90% showed a reduction in redness and inflamed acne

85% agreed it is gentle on the skin

How to Use the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask

The light therapy acne mask is easy and convenient to use. The mask is powered by an activator remote control, which is powered by batteries. All you need to do is switch on the activator and the mask will light up. You wear the mask for the whole 10 minute session before it automatically switches off without you needing to set a timer or do anything.

My Final Opinion

I've been using the mask for about a month now and I've already noticed major changes to my skin. This mask isn't designed for severe acne despite the fact that mine would probably be classed under this category. Initially I wasn't sure what to make of this form of acne treatment. I'd heard of light therapy but didn't know much about it or its effectiveness. Is it just another fad product? Or is this really the revolutionary clinically proven technology that experts claim? I am thoroughly impressed with the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy mask. Although I've noticed improvements, I wouldn't boast its effectiveness on severe acne just like Neutrogena has stated. I'm wary of recommending new beauty tools but I'd recommend this one! You can purchase the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask here and the replacement activator remote here.
