Christmas in Quarantine: 5 Ways to Survive the Holiday Season
No matter whether you’re spending this Christmas in quarantine or celebrating in smaller gatherings, it’s safe to say that the holiday season will probably look a little different this year! For many of us, Christmas won’t be an easy time. So if you’re in need of cheering up or want to find ways to keep busy, hopefully these tips will help you!
I really enjoy reading blogs and I love discovering new content creators! There is so much variation when it comes to blogs and I really do believe that there is something for everyone in the blogging world. Here are a few blogs that I've been enjoying reading recently.
This is a lifestyle blog, covering a range of topics, including mental health. Jenna shares personal experiences and honest opinions on everything from outfit hauls, book reviews and dealing with her own mental health issues.
VavaViolet is another open and honest blog. The blog covers a range of topics from beauty reviews, love and relationship advice, to personal development.
IntheFrow is my go-to blog for all things fashion and glamour. The beautiful photography and positive vibe never fails to lift my mood!
I first started following Monica’s blog when she was running The Travel Hack. I have really enjoyed following her transition from travel blogger to lifestyle and mummy blogger this year. She has demonstrated how you can change direction in your blogging career and why you shouldn’t feel trapped by your initial niche that earned you success.
Want to escape from reality for a while? Why not treat yourself this Christmas to a virtual reality headset? They’re a great way to relax and unwind if you’re feeling anxious or stressed. You can choose to drop yourself into any location or environment with just a click of a button.
If it’s one thing we’ve established by now, it’s that this year has been anything but ordinary. Whatever was holding you back before may no longer apply. Of course, travel and anything that involves gathering in large crowds might be off the cards at the moment but there’s still so much that you can do at home! Why not try a new hobby or finally launch that new business idea? Tackle that pile of books you have to read or get stuck into that 1000-piece puzzle! Wherever possible, try to keep busy and fill your time with activities that make you happy. I've always wanted to start my own fashion brand and now I have, well a jewellery brand actually. I don't know what was holding me back before but recently I just decided to go ahead and launch it and I am so glad I took the leap of faith. You can visit the Luisa Marie online store here.
Need something to keep you busy? Why not try out doing your own gel nails at home? It's a fun and creative way to pass time, plus you'll have beautiful nails afterwards! Gel nails have become increasingly popular over recent years. Not only do they look amazing and last longer than simply painting your nails, they keep your nails strong and allow them to grow! Of course, you can use gel nail colours and techniques on your natural nails, as well as false nails or extensions. While a trip to the nail salon is a great way to unwind and self-indulge, it can be a costly game. If you’re looking to save money or if you can’t see a professional nail technician right now, why not try doing your own DIY gel nails at home? It’s easier than you think, not to mention more convenient for those who don’t always have time for nail appointments. Purchase the kit here or read my full gel nails tutorial.
One of the best and most productive ways to spend your free time is by working on your self development! Master the art of positive thinking, read motivational stories, read inspiring books, and most importantly, work on being a better version of yourself. I can't stress enough how important self development is and I have yet to come across a person who has tried it and not had great results! Admittedly, you do really have to believe in what you're studying, whether it's the law of attraction or simply overcoming certain blocks in your life. Once you get stuck into self development, you won't regret it and in fact, it can end up becoming addictive! I'd highly recommend reading "She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur" by Carrie Green to get started. It's full of inspirational advice on creating a successful business doing something you love, as well as generally living a better life!
